BIOGRAPHY. Saúl Juárez Mena originally from Mexico City. Interested from boyhood in Knowledge and Expression, especially manifested in Science and in Art. He began his musical studies at the age of 11, same which he resumed and continued 4 years later due to the impossibility of continuing them at that age. Of great influence at the primary level is the activity developed with teacher Alejandra Gutierrez Cárdenas at the Celerino Cano Palacios School. Greater still is the influence received in his studies of Gnosis and Buddhism through his own practices and readings, and especially in the lumisial Venus. At a later stage the multi and interdisciplinary interest was born from the learning activity at the Cedart Luis Spota. Formed within the musical tradition of the 19th century as a concert pianist, he graduated from the National Music, having previously studied with the pianist Andrés García García at the Cedart. The musical training I undertook with teachers Aurelio Leon, Monique Rasseti and Krizstina Deli, helped him generate constancy and discipline, in addition to naturally, sensitivity to the phenomenon and work with sound and with fine motor activity. I graduated with the Thesis entitled 'Introduction to Digital Media in Music', which has a more pedagogical than research profile, however this work provided the theoretical basis for several aspects of my future interest, such as the use of technology for composition and research, and spatiality and sound. Already interested in cinema and audiovisual I formed together with some friends from the National School of Music the same student cineclub and worked at San Pedro Post in the audio postproduction of several Mexican films (Santo Luzbel and Cilantro and Parsley, see credits) and co-productions between 1998 and 2000). In parallel he began his Mathematical studies at the CIMAT Guanajuato, same he continued later at the FC of the UNAM without achieving advancement in an official way, but not so in learning the subject. I subsequently carried out postgraduate studies in Europe, the master at the UPF-Barcelona in Digital Art and learning and development stays at Berlin UDK-TU and Budapest Ferenc Liszt Academy.. Upon returning from his studies in Europe I joined the Ixtli Reality Lab in charge of sound and music design for different types of virtual environments, such as phobia study spaces for the Faculty of Psychology and mechanics experiments for the FC Physics Area. In addition I collaborated on the Oberta project that I had already met in the master’s degree in Barcelona, for its conditioning at the UNAM and its execution as a clae-concert for students from various areas of the UNAM. This point experience with advanced academic networks served as basis for future managements I conducted at CONACULTA (Mexico National Council for Culture and Arts) to direct an Internet 2 project in the cultural area, installing fiber optic for the CNA (Centro Nacional de las Artes) and public TV Channel 22; and generating a program of exchange activities in the academic, research and dissemination area with several collaborators from Mexico and from several parts of the world on three continents. I also worked as an academic technician in the Linkage area of the UNAM Center for Complexity Science, where I carried out internet projects 2 for the normal activities of the center and the realization of Scientific Cinema cycles from Europe and for C3 and the UNAM Faculty of Science. In addition I managed and curated two exhibitions of work by artists interested in the Art-Science link with the help of Universum of the UNAM and the MUAC. Subsequently I have developed pedagogical work with the Seminary of Art and Mathematics and of Music and Mathematics in the Faculty of Science of UNAM for three and a half years. I currently work as a teacher in the music production area of the CEC in Guadalajara. Imparting musical training subjects such as Music history and Music Theory. He founds together with Victor Godoy and Renato Leriche the Sigmart group of Art-Science and Technology, in which they design projects of RV, 3D Animation and interactivity for expressive-playful-educational purposes.
