CONNECTIONS

The management and organization of diverse projects linked to Art, Science, Technology, and Society are of great interest to me. I have experience in this field at various times, and while it depends on many factors, I find it very stimulating and capable of contributing to social change. During my formative years,

I worked in the post-production of Mexican films, an activity that is always a team effort and where one learns a great deal from others' perspectives. Later, in Europe, I participated in the development of a Contemporary Art festival in Hungary, assisting in its organization while also contributing an experimental audiovisual work. Upon returning to Mexico,

I joined the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) at Ixtli, the Virtual Reality Laboratory, where I worked on several highly interesting interdisciplinary projects with mathematicians, physicists, designers, and engineers from various specialties. I also participated in some initiatives, particularly in advanced networks, such as the Opera Oberta project and the Identity project, both collaborative with other universities and international institutions.

I also had the opportunity to collaborate with Siete Media on several collaborative projects for Campus Party, the ITU International Telecommunications Congress, and the Air Force Museum. All of these activities were carried out in collaboration with experts from other areas of industrial design, visual arts, and museography.

Many years ago, a group of friends and I worked with a Colombian NGO on educational initiatives promoting reading. Currently, with digital networks, the connectivity and communication they enable, and the disruption and disorder caused by human influence in nature, it is necessary to use these transmission methods for remote work in many fields.

Communication technology is a means of application for developing ideas and objectives related to creative research, as well as to the pedagogical aspects and the dissemination of events. In this capacity, I have collaborated with CUDI and CONACULTA – the National Council for Culture and the Arts of Mexico (now the Ministry of Culture of the Federal Government) – and UNAM, promoting Art, Culture, and Science projects on Advanced Networks or Internet 2.0.

I also assisted as an academic technician at C3 (Center for Complexity Sciences) in organizing a Science Film program from Europe (Spain) for distribution at two UNAM venues, developing other academic activities with various national and international researchers and working groups, and curating and organizing two Art-Science exhibitions.

We formed the SigmArt group to develop projects that can benefit the use of technology for recreational and educational purposes. This working group is made up of scientists, technologists, and artists.
